Genesis Private Equity Fund IV, a fund of Genesis Capital, has acquired a minority stake in the NAY-DATART group, a leading retailer of consumer electronics and home appliances in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The investment is intended to support further development in the key period after the group's establishment. The co-investor of the transaction is RSJ investment group.
Ondřej Vičar, Managing Partner of Genesis Capital Equity, commented: „The team around Dan Večeřa has been delivering great results for more than 25 years. We at Genesis are therefore proud to be part of the story that NAY-DATART will write in the years to come. We see strong potential for future growth, which may culminate in an IPO.“
Daniel Večeřa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NAY-DATART, added: „The merger of Datart and Nay opens up new opportunities and brings great synergy potential, which we want to make the most of. However, such ambitious goals require solid foundations, reliable partners and proven cooperation. That is why we are glad to be joined on this journey by a strong and proven partner, with whom we have already successfully cooperated in the past and achieved great results. We believe that together we will take on the big challenge and turn it into success.“
About NAY-DATART
The NAY-DATART Group was formed in 2024 by the merger of Nay and HP Tronic (operating under the Datart brand). HP Tronic was founded in 1990. Through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, it gradually grew into the largest Czech specialist electronics retailer. Nay was founded in 1991 by Peter Zálešák and Ján Tomáš, who remained its owners until the merger with HP Tronic. ETA (founded 1943), a traditional manufacturer of household appliances, is also part of the NAY-DATART group.
