PFX Group, backed by Genesis Capital, expands further by acquiring VFX studio in Germany

PFX Group, a GPEF IV fund portfolio company of Genesis Capital, based in Prague, Czech Republic, has successfully acquired the German VFX division of Cine Chromatix. This strategic acquisition has expanded PFX Group's workforce to nearly 250 highly skilled professionals across Central Europe, enabling the group to participate in high-profile projects and bringing captivating special effects for the audiences.

Martin Viliš, Partner at Genesis Capital Equity responsible for the PFX investment, remarked: “We are pleased to continue expanding the market reach of PFX Group beyond the CEE region as Germany is one of the most important VFX markets in Europe. This acquisition complements our investment thesis of making PFX a leading ‘go-to’ studio for visual effects within the region.”

About Cine Chromatix (VFX)

Cine Chromatix’s VFX division is a visual effects studio situated in Berlin, Germany, focusing mainly on local feature films. The studio work for Edward Berger's "All Quiet on the Western Front" received an Oscar and a BAFTA nomination last year and was awarded the European Film Award and the German Film Award 2023. “The School of Magical Animals” by Gregor Schnitzler also received a Lola (the German Film Award) for the best visual effects.
