Genesis Capital, one of the most established institutional private equity players in Central Europe, expands its team by the arrival of Petr Müller, previously associate at Dentons and Michal Mikeš, until recently senior investment associate at KKCG. Petr joins as Legal Counsel, strengthening the legal team of Genesis Capital. Michal is a new Investment manager of Genesis Capital Private Equity Funds.
“Strengthening our team with top legal and financial professionals, which Petr and Michal undoubtedly are, means further expansion of our internal capacities not only in assessing and pursuing new investment opportunities, but also in supporting our current portfolio of investments, which has grown significantly in the past year. It is a great pleasure for me to welcome them both at Genesis Capital,“ says Pavel Kvíčala, Legal Partner at Genesis Capital Equity.
This team expansion comes at the time, when the most recent fund, Genesis Private Equity Fund IV, which has EUR 150 million available for investments into small and medium companies in Central Europe, is in the full deployment mode. Petr and Michal will also support activities related to the portfolio companies of Genesis Private Equity Fund III, the previous fund which invested for instance in HP Tronic / Datart, GTH Catering or Conectart. Both funds will thus receive direct support of additional leading experts with particular experience in the field of mergers and acquisitions, their management and structured finance.
Petr Müller prior to joining Genesis Capital, was an associate at Dentons, an international law firm. His experience includes advising on international and local transactions in a wide range of sectors, including transport and forwarding, automotive, manufacturing, TMT, energy and, last but not least, private equity. He graduated the Faculty of Law at Charles University and studied at the University of Sheffield in the UK. He became a member of the Czech Bar Association in 2022.
Michal Mikeš gained experience in the M&A team at KKCG group, focusing on investment opportunities in the energy sector across Europe. Before that, he spent five years in the EY valuation team, where he worked on complex business valuations for both Czech and international clients in a wide range of industries. Michal is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, with specialization in Finance and Business Valuation.
