PFX Group, a leading visual effects and post-production studio from the portfolio of the GPEF IV fund, is thrilled to announce its expansion across Europe with the addition of three exceptional studios: VAST in Austria, Cine Chromatix Italy, and the full integration of Cine Chromatix Germany. This strategic move further strengthens PFX’s position as a key player in the European visual effects and post-production industry, now boasting over 300 skilled professionals in studios across Prague, Bratislava, Berlin, Warsaw, and other cities.
Austria: VAST Joins the PFX Family
Based in Vienna, VAST brings immense creativity and expertise to PFX. With a team of over 40 professionals, VAST has worked on renowned projects such as Asteroid City or House of the Dragon. Founder Valentin Struklec and his talented team will continue to deliver unique creative solutions, now supported by group-wide resources. This partnership underscores shared values and strengthens PFX’s ability to serve the Austrian market and beyond.
Italy: Expansion with Cine Chromatix Italy
PFX is also delighted to welcome Cine Chromatix Italy, a renowned studio based in Merano, South Tyrol. Known for its cutting-edge hybrid grading and cinema mixing capabilities, the studio brings exceptional talent and expertise to the group. This move enhances PFX’s ability to leverage Italian subsidies and expands its reach in the Italian market.
Germany: Full Integration of Cine Chromatix Germany
Following the successful integration of the Cine Chromatix VFX department in summer 2024, PFX has now completed the full acquisition of the Berlin-based post-production provider. With additional offices in Leipzig, Cologne, and Stuttgart, founders and managing directors Janosch Benz and Ufuk Genç will join the PFX Group, further enhancing its capacity and geographic reach.
Jiri Mika, CEO of PFX Group, expressed his excitement: “We're delighted to welcome our new partners in Austria, Germany, and Italy. Together, we'll continue to deliver exceptional creative work and provide competitive pricing to our clients.”
Martin Viliš, Partner at Genesis Capital Equity, commented: “This significant expansion aligns perfectly with our strategy to boost PFXs growth through acquisitions. It underscores our commitment to fostering a robust European presence while maintaining the outstanding quality and creativity that PFX is known for.”
