Genesis Capital, one of the leading private equity firms in Central Europe, announces the expansion of its investment activities into Germany and the strengthening of its partnership through the appointment of Jörgen Hausberger as Partner. This step strengthens Genesis Capital’s activities investing in high-quality companies with strong growth potential headquartered in the Czech Republic and surrounding markets.
The expansion into Germany comes with and will be executed through Genesis Private Equity Fund V (GPEF V), the most recent fund launched in June 2025 with current size of EUR 275 million and a hard cap of EUR 295 million, expected to be reached in the first quarter of 2026. GPEF V backs entrepreneurs and management teams seeking a suitable long-term partner to facilitate succession, drive expansion, or pursue new market opportunities, as well as managers in corporate carve-out situations, when global parent groups divest their local non-core business units.
GPEF V will continue to invest across a wide range of industries, with preference for sectors where Genesis funds have had a strong historical track record, such as B2B services, light and medium manufacturing, IT services and specialised retail, e-commerce and consumer-oriented services. The fund targets investments across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Austria and newly Germany, reflecting Genesis Capital’s ambition to pursue also opportunities in Europe’s largest economy that either have a cross-border aspect or match Genesis’ industry experience and know-how. The typical equity tickets of GPEF V range between EUR 12m – 35m.
To support its growth ambitions in Germany and Austria, Genesis Capital has strengthened its partnership by welcoming Jörgen Hausberger as Partner. Jörgen brings more than 27 years of private equity experience, with a strong focus on the DACH region and a proven track record in hands-on portfolio development and close collaboration with management teams. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in numerous transactions in Germany, Austria and Central Europe, supporting companies throughout the full investment cycle.
For more than two decades, Jörgen has been Managing Partner at INVEST EQUITY, an independent Austrian investment firm focused on majority investments in small and mid-sized companies, primarily in industrial and related services. In this role, he has been responsible for sourcing and executing investments, developing portfolio companies and overseeing exit processes. He has also held several supervisory board positions and is a co-founder of the Austrian Private Equity and Venture Capital Organisation (AVCO).
Jörgen has worked closely with Genesis Capital for nearly a decade as a Member of the Investment Committee of its private equity funds. His move into the partnership represents a natural next step in this long-standing cooperation and significantly strengthens Genesis Capital’s capabilities as it continues to deploy GPEF V across Central Europe and the DACH region.
“We are pleased to welcome Jörgen into Partner role. He has been part of the Genesis Capital story for many years, and his experience, investor acumen and deep knowledge have already contributed to our investment decisions,” commented Ondřej Vičar, Managing Partner at Genesis Capital Equity. “Strengthening our partnership with him allows us to work together more closely and further enhance our ability to originate and develop investments across the region. We look forward to this new chapter of cooperation,” he concludes.
“I am honoured to join Genesis Capital as Partner. After many years of close cooperation with the Genesis team, I have a strong conviction in the firm’s investment approach, culture, and long-term vision. Scaling across the region, including Germany and Austria, as a leading private equity house is a natural step, and I look forward to partnering with entrepreneurs and management teams to build strong, sustainable businesses across Central Europe, drawing on deep regional experience,” said Jörgen Hausberger.
